The Daily Mail will be publishing an article about the Centre’s patient
John May. He needed a balloon in order to lose weight because he had been refused
hip and knee replacement surgery by the NHS on the basis of his weight. Having
now successfully lost 4 stones, he will be having his surgery under the NHS within
the next few weeks.
February / March 2007
The BBC are in the final stages of producing their “Real Lives” programme
about the Centre to be screened within the next few months.
February 2007
Both Phillip Thomas and the Unsworth family were interviewed by the Tonight with
Trevor McDonald Show for an episode relating to obesity; especially obesity surgery.
January 2007
The Daily Mirror published an article about the Centre’s patient Janice
Bell, who lost more than 5 stones with her stomach balloon.
